Child & Adolescent Therapy Research & Trauma Informed Faith Based
Becky Younis, MS, LPC | Owner, NeuroBloom Christian Counseling
About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and the owner of NeuroBloom Christian Counseling in Frisco, TX, where I specialize in Child Play Therapy and Adolescent Counseling. My passion is helping children and teens navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, trauma, and relational challenges through a trauma-informed, neuroscience-backed, and faith-integrated approach.
Originally pursuing a medical doctorate and practice in research, I earned Bachelor’s degrees in both Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas and later completed my Master of Science in Counseling at Southern Methodist University (SMU). My work as a researcher in psychoneuroendocrinology and depression at UT Southwestern deepened my understanding of the mind-body connection, leading me to focus on healing through therapy.
During my graduate training, I pursued specialization in Child and Adolescent Play and Activity Therapy, completing my clinical internship at the SMU Center for Family Counseling, where I led Child-Parent Relationship Training (CPRT) and Student Mindfulness Groups. I also served as Vice President of the SMU Play Therapy Association, receiving the Outstanding Student in Service award for my leadership and dedication.
Most recent continued professional development:
• EMDR Trained (2023) – EMRIA-approved EMDR Consultants
• Certified Sandtray Therapist Training, Institute for Play Therapy (2021)
• Neuroscience of Play Therapy Summit (2025)
• Interpersonal Neurobiology Training – Dan Siegel’s Mindsight Institute
I believe that early experiences shape the brain, and secure attachment fosters emotional regulation, confidence, and resilience. My theoretical approach is person-centered, attachment-based, and trauma-informed, integrating play, creative expression, and activity-based interventions to meet children and teens where they are.
I have been happily married for 19 years and love to explore museums, nature, and the great outdoors with my children. My most treasured hobbies are traveling and continuously learning about the brain, human resilience, and God’s intricate design for His masterpiece—us.
As a Christian and therapist, I believe in God’s promise to bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3), to give us all a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11), and to replace fear with faith (Mark 5:36). These truths inspire my work with children, teens, and families, guiding them through anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and life’s challenges with grace, compassion, and evidence-based therapy.
I respect and honor each person’s journey, providing spiritual counseling upon request, while working with individuals of all backgrounds and faiths. Above all, I am committed to practicing ethically, creating a safe space for healing, and reflecting God’s love, grace, and truth in my work—helping every child and teen not just survive, but bloom into the person God designed them to be.
